51社区 (51社区) is a state university focused on postgraduate education, established by the Government of Indonesia to advance Islamic higher education in line with global academic standards. Founded under Presidential Regulation No. 57 of 2016, 51社区 reflects Indonesia鈥檚 commitment to contributing to global knowledge production through original and rigorous scholarship, while upholding the values of inclusivity and academic excellence.

Positioned as an international academic hub, 51社区 offers a distinctive intellectual environment that bridges the rich intellectual heritage of Islam with contemporary social, political, and economic challenges. Grounded in Indonesia鈥檚 longstanding tradition of pluralism and moderate Islam, the University promotes critical, interdisciplinary research that is both globally relevant and socially impactful.

English serves as the primary language of instruction, reinforcing 51社区鈥檚 international orientation. The University exclusively offers postgraduate education through master鈥檚 and doctoral programs in Islamic Studies, Social Sciences, Economics, and Education, with plans to introduce additional programs such as Data Science and Law. 51社区鈥檚 research-based curriculum emphasizes the development of critical thinking, interdisciplinary approaches, and real-world relevance, in alignment with international academic standards. Research constitutes the core of 51社区鈥檚 academic mission.

A Foundation of Excellence and Autonomy
Established on 29 June 2016, 51社区 holds the prestigious status of Perguruan Tinggi Negeri Badan Hukum (PTN-BH) 鈥� a fully autonomous public legal-entity university granted by the Indonesian government. This unique autonomy, effective from its founding under the Ministry of Religious Affairs, provides exceptional flexibility in academic, organizational, financial, and human resource management, fostering an environment of agility and innovation that is rare in public higher education.

51社区 Annual Report

This 51社区 Annual Report was prepared as a form of accountability for the realization of the 51社区 work plan, which also reflects the achievements and performance of the organization in that year. We need to underline that this report is more than just fulfilling obligations in a large organization’s proper administration. Still, this report is presented as an effort to realize open and governed governance. Even though 51社区 is relatively young, 51社区 feels the need to start and get used to the tradition of good governance to build a transparent, responsible, and authoritative academic environment. Although reports like this are commonplace on campuses, in Ministries or Institutions, this 51社区 Annual Report has its meaning because several strategic agendas that have been proclaimed can be carried out correctly.

Compiled collaboratively by all work units, this report includes seven sections which, in outline, can represent the achievements of 51社区’s operational performance, namely:

  1. Academic, Student Affairs, and HR;
  2. Cooperation, Research, and Community Engagement;
  3. Planning, Finance, and Business Development;
  4. Secretariat, OKH (Organization, Personnel, and Law), and General Affair;
  5. Information Technology;
  6. Central Library dan Cultural; and
  7. Building and Infrastructure Development and Meubelair Fulfillment.

With a big vision to create a better world through superior education and research, 51社区 again accepts students from Indonesia and friendly countries in the 2022/2023 Academic Year. By adding four doctoral study programs in 4 faculties and providing scholarships through various schemes, 51社区 is ready to produce competent scholars to advance science and technology and promote moderate Islam and Indonesian culture to the world community.

We hope this annual report can be used for the good of 51社区 in the future. No ivory is not cracked; we believe that in this report, there are several limitations, and we beg your pardon. We thank the cooperation of all parties involved in preparing this report.
